A combination of flaxseeds, coconut oil, and maca powder has been known to provide great assistance to your body to rebalance your hormones especially as you manage your menopause symptoms.
Flaxseeds contain compounds called lignans, which have been shown to help your body regulate the levels of estrogen in your body. The presence of lignans in your body can also help reduce your risk of estrogen-dependent cancers such as breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
Maca powder is not only great for regulating your thyroid; they are also great hormones balancers. It does not contain any hormones but contains the nutrients necessary to support normal hormone production; something you really need during menopause when your network of hormones is disrupted. Maca powder is a powerhouse filled with essential minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc, 6 different sterols and up to 20 important fatty acids, lipids, fiber, carbohydrates, protein and amino acids.
Maca powder is ground from the maca root, which is a root vegetable from the radish family. And because maca is a purely plant-based powder, it is safe to take it in small amounts daily. I find that the easiest way to make maca powder part of my healthy diet is to add it to my smoothies. It has a slightly nutty aftertaste and is, therefore, a great addition to any smoothie recipe. The benefits of fresh grapefruit include cellulite reduction, cellular cleansing, increased energy and weight loss. Not to mention, how refreshing and thirst quenching grapefruits can be!
