Chocolate Mousse, oh boy this is yummy!
This scrumptious recipe with raw cacao and avocado provides a splendid alternative to sugary treats, without the calories or guilt!
Cacao has been enjoyed for its health and invigorating properties in South American cultures for thousands of years.
There are vast differences between cacao and cacoa. Both start from the same plant known as Theobroma cacao tree. However, cacao has the greater nutritional values. Raw cacao tastes more bitter but for the same reason is the healthier of the two. Studies linking health benefits of chocolate are focusing on the cacao bean.
Cacao is rich in nutrients like iron, potassium, zinc, copper, antioxidants, and fiber. It includes many minerals and found to be one of the highest food sources of dietary magnesium. Cacao provides two amino acids, called tryptophan and serotonin, which are the feel-good brain transmitters. Perhaps it explains why I am always super happy after consuming this treat!
Avocados are undeniably a health-friendly fruit!
Avocados are a nutrient-dense food providing over 20 essential nutrients, including an excellent source of fiber, potassium, folate, and B-vitamins. It includes a monounsaturated fat, meaning a good fat. The fat from the avocado also helps your body to absorb other fat-soluble nutrients such as vitamin A, D, K and E, from the other foods you eat.
Half of an avocado is only 80 calories while loaded with so many vitamins and minerals which make it a superfood.
The fiber-rich health benefits of avocados have been known to help with reducing health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and even weight loss.
