Raw Apple Breakfast Porridge
Reminiscent of homemade apple pie, this healthy breakfast is easy to throw together in the morning. Simply combine the ingredients in a chopper and you’ve whipped together a delicious and satisfying meal that will keep you going all morning long until lunch. One wholesome ingredient in this breakfast are apples which are especially rich in phytonutrients such as antioxidants, including flavanoids and phenolic antioxidants, dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, and quercetin. The phytonutrients in apples may help to reduce the risk of developing cancer, help to regulate blood sugar by slowing down carbohydrate digestion, reduce hypertension, diabetes, improves digestion and prevent gallstones. Apples contain two heart-healthy ingredients known as pectin (a soluble fiber) which helps to reduce total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol and polyphenols, for its antioxidant effects. Studies have shown that apples have been helpful for weight loss due to its high fiber content which promotes fullness leading to reduced calorie intake.

  2. Pulse until the desired consistency. Looks like a chunky porridge.
  3. Put the mixture into a bowl.
  4. Top the mixture with hemp granules, almond or coconut milk and cinnamon powder.
